What materials are used in your rugs?HANDTUFTED RUGS Our handtufted rugs are made with 100% New Zealand Wool, known for its exceptional quality and durability. Wool is a natural fibre that is soil resistant due to its scaly surface. Soil remains high in the rug pile and can therefore be easily removed with a hoover. The lanolin coating of the wool fibres prevents penetration by water-based liquids. Wool also has a natural elasticity that stands up well to daily stresses. Even marks from light furniture level out after a while. Additionally, we offer real silk rugs and handknotted rugs for those seeking even more luxurious options. Equally important for allergy sufferers is that the textile fibers capture dust.
-
Are your rugs of high quality?Absolutely! We take pride in ensuring that our rugs meet the highest quality standards. Each rug is crafted with meticulous attention to detail by skilled artisans, resulting in a product that is both beautiful and long-lasting. Our digitally printed carpets are printed in Germany with the best printing machines on the market producing hi-res images and sharp contures.
-
How do you define quality? Our handtufted rugs are manufactured with a weight of 4,500 GSM (grams per squaremeter). The high density of the yarn used gives our DozyRugs a specialst ability and the highest quality. In addition, we manufacture our carpets with a pile height of 12mm. Cheap carpets are often manufactured with only 500 - 700 GSM and a pile height of 5 - 7mm. You will notice the difference when you walk barefoot on our rugs or cuddle on them.
-
Will my handtufted rug shed?Yes - It is normal for handtufted rugs to experience some shedding of loose fibers, especially in the initial period of use. This shedding is a natural characteristic of the handtufting process and does not indicate a defect in the rug. Regular vacuuming and gentle care will help minimize any shedding over time.

How should I care for my rug to keep it looking its best?To keep your rug looking its best, it's best to vacuum it regularly, spot clean any spills or stains as soon as possible. To protect your rug from sun damage, we recommend avoiding exposing your rug to bright sunlight for extended periods of time. Additionally, it can be helpful to rotate your rug every 6 months or so to avoid color fading in any one area. We also suggest that you vacuum your rug regularly and have it professionally cleaned every 12-18 months.

First steps when my rug arrivesAll our carpets go through a quality check before they are carefully packed and shipped. When you receive your rug, please open it immediately and check that it has not been damaged in transit. Do not store it without allowing it to breathe. Once it is opened and spread out, the flattened fibres will be able to unfold in their beauty. Please note that marks and even damage can occur if you place heavy furniture on the carpet. In this case, it is best to place coasters under your furniture so that there is no point load on your carpet. Translated with DeepL
-
How should I store my rug when not in use?If you need to store your rug, ensure it is clean and completely dry before rolling it up. Use a breathable, acid-free material to wrap the rug, such as muslin or a clean cotton sheet. Avoid plastic, as it can trap moisture and potentially damage the rug. Store it in a cool, dry place to prevent mold or mildew growth.
-
Will the size of the carpets always be accurate to the millimeter? For most of our carpets, especially for the digitally printed ones, the final dimension is fairly accurate with deviations of maximum 1 - 3%. This also applies to handtufted carpets with a cut-out shape such as the "Come Together Collection". That's the nature of our carpets, which are made by hand.
-
How should I clean my dozyrug?Regular maintenance is essential to keep your rug looking its best. For routine cleaning, we recommend vacuuming your rug regularly using a low-power setting and a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment. This helps remove dust and debris without damaging the fibers. Avoid using a beater bar or harsh vacuum settings. Spot cleaning is suitable for addressing small stains or spills. Blot the affected are a gently with a clean, absorbent cloth or paper towel. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing, as it may push the stain deeper into the fibers. If necessary, you can use a mild detergent or soap mixed with water, but test it on a small, in conspicuous area first to ensure color fastness. If you cannot remove stubborn stains, have your carpet professionally cleaned. Never dry-clean!
-
What can I do to protect my rug from wearing and tearing?Use a rug pad to prevent slipping and to provide cushioning. Avoid keeping the rug in the same place for a longer period of time to prevent uneven wear and tear
-
Are there any specific care instructions for handtufted and for silk rugs?Depending on the foot traffic your rug is regularly exposed to, we recommend getting it professionally cleaned every two to five years. We recommend avoiding direct sunlight exposure to prevent fading. Additionally, professional cleaning is highly recommended for silk rugs to maintain their luster and delicate fibers.
